Senior Electrical Engineer

 

A senior electrical engineer is required by an established oil and gas company in Singapore.

 

Role/ Responsibilities

 

  • Understands the specific technical requirements of the relevant project through construction, commissioning, and start-up phases
  • Understand and implement Industry Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
  • Plans and directs the running of application software and reviews and approves the datasheets deliverables prepared by Engineers.
  • Support the team to develop engineering specifications (drawings, data sheets, etc.) specific to the assigned project, reviews them and validates with the Project Manager and client
  • Independently evaluates all the bids received for Electrical packages from various suppliers, performs a technical bid evaluation process, involved in cost estimation
  • Ensures selected vendors meet technical/engineering and delivery requirements as stipulated in the project specifications
  • Reviews/checks draft drawings and documents from team members and ensures the timely provision of accurate documents and specifications
  • Independently manages/develops solutions to technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issues/data
  • Reports any deviation from standard specification and practices, concept change to Department manager and seek his approval on the solution.
  • Visits suppliers to check and tests Electrical items to ensure that they function as per specifications.
  • Participates in meetings, reviews progress and addresses interface/implementation/execution issues
  • Escalates where necessary to ensure that the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
  • Independently evaluate the Electrical requirement for mechanical packages in Marine & Topside,
  • Plans and organizes resources and schedule.
  • Provides technical/engineering support and advice to Construction/Commissioning work at site, trouble shoots and follows up to rectify the gaps or problems.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s in electrical engineering
  • Relevant working experience in Electrical engineering (Power Distribution System) in oil and gas sector. Familiarity with FPSO/FSO and market practices in the oil and gas sector is added advantage

LEAD PROCESS ENGINEER – MEG SYSTEMS required by our Client, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Mumbai, India.

Duration:         24 months

POSITION SCOPE

Lead Process Engineer reporting to Package Manager for detailed design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning  and support for commissioning/start-up for expansion of an existing onshore mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) purification/recovery plant in India comprising pre-treatment, re-concentration and reclamation sections. Includes removal and disposal of divalent and monovalent salts from dirty MEG after separation from well fluids. Design experience with regards to world class suppliers of MEG refining technology suppliers such as Schlumberger’s (formally known as Cameron), Aker’s, and others is preferred. Past experience and familiarity with FEED competitions a plus. Residence in client’s office in Mumbai, India with travel to vendor’s locations worldwide will be required. Successful candidate will form a part of Client’s integrated project team managing Client’s EPC contractor(s) for this work.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

Chemical Engineering Degree

Min. 18 Years Process Engineering Experience

5 Years Mono-ethylene Glycol (MEG) Engineering Experience

Strong background in onshore and/or offshore upstream and downstream process systems design including process engineering and process safety, at both FEED and detailed design.

Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA, ALARP, Bow-Ties and design reviews.

Strong background in working with a multi-discipline team.

Strong project delivery track record.
